Services
for PIEZOELECTRIC Devices
NM GmbH provides numerical simulation support for the analysis, design and optimization of devices exploiting the piezo electric effect. With its own software tool NM SESES, state-of-the-art simulation of coupled electromechanical effects is possible. Anisotropic (tensorial) material properties for single crystals as well as for polarized piezo ceramics can be taken into account, in addition to the temperature dependence. Piezoelectric Sensors: Examples of successfully simulated systems are pressure, acceleration and force sensors based on piezo electric single crystals. The analysis covers sensitivity, overload behaviour, temperature dependence of sensitivity and offset as well as eigenfrequency/eigenmode calculations to access the sensor's dynamic behaviour. Customers have the choice of obtaining parametrized NMSeses models, which can be simulated and further explored at the customers R&D department, or to aquire parameter studies and simulations of design performance etc. Piezoelectric Actuators: Piezoelectric actuators built on the basis of piezoelectric ceramics (e.g. PZT) have been modeled with complex geometries. The NM SESES software is specifically developed to meet the design challanges of microstructures. Alternatively, the customer can choose to obtain full engineering support including model setup, model validation and simulation based optimization, including interpretation of the results for the system under development. |
